Dr. Mirza’s Personal Divorce Story

Dr Mirza 7

Hello and welcome to tipsofdivorce.com.  My name is Muhammad Mirza, M.D., and I’m currently in the process of getting divorced from my wife of 15 years.  My wife and I have two children together, a boy and a girl, ages 15 and 11.  My wife asked for a divorce a little over a year ago, but due to its complexity and a failure to agree on a settlement, the divorce has yet to be finalized.  When first separated from my wife, I suffered greatly, as I gather many people going through a divorce must experience.  Shortly after moving out of the family home and getting settled into my new residence, I realized that there was a large community of people, just like me, who were going through or had already gone through a divorce.  I decided then that I was going to turn what seemed like a negative life event into a proactive and positive life transition by creating a space for me to share lessons from my own divorce and also include a variety of tips from other sources, providing insights into the vast realm of divorce and relationships in general.

The more I have delved into the social, emotional, and economic constructs of divorce, the more positive aspects I have been able to derive from them.  This goes to show that it’s not what happens in our lives, but how we perceive and respond to what happens that truly matters.   As we struggle, we are given many opportunities to learn, grow, and to make space to create new opportunities within our lives.  From the onset of my divorce, I have launched multiple websites, including this one, and started various other projects that have given my life added meaning and purpose.  Of course I have had to make time to focus on my divorce and do my usual work as a medical doctor, but I made it a point to create positive projects that would reflect my new life as a divorced, single, and free human being.  I hope you will feel inspired to do the same.
